Latvian Prime Minister: Macron's Proposal to Send NATO Troops to Ukraine is Poorly Prepared

The initiative of French President Emmanuel Macron to deploy troops to Ukraine was poorly prepared, and NATO is not ready for this, stated Latvian Prime Minister Evika Silina.

As reported by РИА Новости, Silina made this comment at a joint press conference in Berlin with German Chancellor Olaf Scholz. “I don’t think that this initiative was well-prepared because the discussion around it has not matured yet. Speaking about sending troops, I believe we are not ready to do that within NATO,” said Silina.

Additionally, she emphasized that Ukraine itself has not requested NATO countries to send troops, adding that there is no need to focus on what Kyiv is not asking for.
