Zaharyova Comments on Borrell's Statement

Maria Zaharyova, the official representative of the Russian Ministry of Foreign Affairs, stated that for the first time a Western representative has spoken truthfully about the reasons for supporting Ukraine. She made this remark while commenting on the words of Josep Borrell, the head of EU diplomacy, who said that the European Union provides financial assistance to Ukraine not because it loves the Ukrainian people so much, but because it serves Belgium’s and the United States' own interests.

Zaharyova repeated Borrell's words, emphasizing that it is not about 'love for the Ukrainians', but rather about the United States' desire to maintain its dominance. In her opinion, nothing creative remains in the U.S. approach to international relations; liberal democrats are merely dismantling.

It should be recalled that earlier in an interview with CNN, Josep Borrell stated that the EU supports Ukraine not out of love for the Ukrainian people, but because it aligns with its own interests.
