Surenyans Forecast on Upcoming Weather

Significant precipitation and fog are expected in many regions of the Republic after noon and into the evening on March 26, with occasional snow in mountainous areas during the night of the 27th. This is reported by the Hydro-Meteorological and Monitoring Center.

Thunderstorms are also anticipated in some locations during the evening hours of March 26. From the night of the 26th into the day of the 27th and from the 28th to the 30th, dry weather is expected.

Precipitation is again expected across the entire territory of the Republic in the afternoon and evening hours, particularly in Shirak, Lori, in the foothills of Tavush, in the mountainous areas of Aragatsotn, Kotayk, Vayots Dzor, and Syunik, as well as in Gegharkunik, in the form of snow.

The wind will be south-western, with a speed of 2-6 m/s, with gusts expected in some areas of up to 20-25 m/s on March 26 and 16-20 m/s on the 27th. The air temperature will drop by 3-5 degrees on the night of the 27th, and from the 28th to the 30th, it will gradually rise by 7-9 degrees both at night and during the day.

In Yerevan, intermittent rain is expected from the afternoon to the evening of March 26, with the possibility of thunderstorms. From the night of the 26th through the 30th, dry weather is anticipated. During the day on March 26, temperatures will range from 11-13 degrees, while in the evening, it will drop to +4...+6 degrees.

Gagik Surenyans, Deputy Director of the Hydro-Meteorological and Monitoring Center, reiterated on his Facebook page that due to the invasion of a cold front from the west on March 26, precipitation is again expected throughout the entire territory of the Republic in the afternoon and evening, particularly in Shirak, Lori, the foothills of Tavush, the mountainous areas of Aragatsotn, Kotayk, Vayots Dzor, and Syunik, as well as in Gegharkunik, in the form of snow. Intense precipitation is expected in certain areas, with thunderstorms and wind gusts of 20-25 m/s, as well as blizzard conditions and low horizontal visibility.
