Man Arrested at Airport While Traveling to Armenia for Posts About Crocus
A resident of Saint Petersburg, Nikolai Konasenkov, has been arrested at Pulkovo Airport, reports "Fontanka". The information is conveyed by kommersant.ru.
According to the newspaper, he was preparing to fly to Armenia via Moscow. Earlier, Nikolai Konasenkov had made several posts on social media regarding the terrorist attack that took place at Crocus City Hall.
Following that, his wife, Roxana Shatunovskaya, resigned from her position as the director of the New Holland public space in Saint Petersburg. The publication has also released a video in which Nikolai Konasenkov apologizes. It is claimed that the video was released by Saint Petersburg police.
As of the time of writing this material, such a video is not available on the Telegram channel of the Main Directorate of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Saint Petersburg and the Leningrad Region.
"Yesterday, I posted two entries on Facebook, in the first of which I asked what would happen if the terrorist attack took place not at Crocus City, but at the Kremlin. In the second, I pondered why the tragedy occurred at the Picnic band concert, rather than some other musical collective," explained Nikolai Konasenkov.
According to him, the posts were perceived by the public as support for terrorism. "I apologize to everyone. I do not support terrorism. A monstrous crime has been committed, for which we all mourn," said Konasenkov.
At this moment, his posts have been deleted. Their screenshots had previously been published by several Telegram channels.
It is worth mentioning that the terrorist attack at Crocus City Hall occurred on the evening of March 22, just before the Picnic band's concert. Armed individuals invaded the complex, fired at people, and set the building on fire. According to the latest reports, 139 people were killed and 182 injured as a result of the attack.
