Has Security Been Strengthened at Malls and Sports Complexes in Yerevan?
As of March 22, the number of victims of the terrorist attack at the "Crocus City Hall" has reached 144. Russian law enforcement officials state that, unfortunately, this number is still expected to rise.
Following this tragedy, security measures in public places have been intensified not only in the Russian Federation but also in various countries around the world. This raises the question: have the shopping and concert centers operating in the Republic of Armenia strengthened their security as well?
MediaHub contacted Karen Ghazaryan, the director of the Karen Demirchyan Sports and Concert Complex. "Since the terrorist attack, we have already held three concerts, and the security measures for these events have been heightened. Although we have always had reinforced security, we have increased it even more after that incident," Ghazaryan stated.
Representatives from Rio Mall also informed us about enhanced security measures. "Before and after that incident, our security operates as it should. We have increased the number of security personnel, and security is being monitored very attentively," a representative said.
Regarding Yerevan's three major shopping centers—Dalma Mall, Yerevan Mall, and Mega Mall—our attempts to obtain a clear response were unsuccessful. After becoming acquainted with the question, they promised to call us back, but we have not received any communication.
