VIDEO: How the Police and NSS Neutralized an Armed Man with a Grenade
On March 24, around 5:00 PM, three individuals armed with grenades approached the open window of the duty area of the New Nork Police Department, threatening to blow up the duty station with hand grenades. This was reported by the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Armenia.
One police officer closed the window of the duty area, after which the person issuing threats threw one of the grenades, resulting in an explosion in front of the entrance door of the administrative building of the police department, creating a real danger to the lives and health of the police officers.
As a result of the explosion, two of the mentioned individuals received injuries to their legs and were transported to a medical center. The third person, holding grenades, continued to threaten that he would blow up the building.
Officers from various divisions of the Ministry of Internal Affairs and representatives of other law enforcement agencies arrived at the scene. Negotiations began aimed at surrendering the grenades, and after some time, the 34-year-old S.H. armed with grenades was neutralized by the officers of the Ministry of Internal Affairs and the NSS. Four grenades were found in his possession.
Through the measures taken, it was established that the person who reportedly detonated the grenade is a 55-year-old A.M. Both 55-year-old A.M. and 51-year-old V.G. sustained injuries from the explosion and were transported to a medical center. A criminal case has been initiated.
