A fire broke out at the Novocheboksarsk Thermal Power Plant in the Rostov region. According to unofficial reports, the facility was attacked by drones.

The regional governor, Vasily Golubev, reported the incident. He stated that the plant's employees quickly extinguished the fire and that there were no casualties. The cause of the fire is currently under investigation, the governor noted.

“Due to the fire, the 330 kV high-voltage lines to Tikhoretskaya and Rostovskaya were automatically disconnected. Power supply to consumers has now been restored. Two power units of the thermal power plant have been temporarily taken offline,” the governor announced.

According to unofficial information cited by the Baza Telegram channel, the electric power plant was attacked by several drones around 2:30 AM. Other sources have not confirmed this report.

The Novocheboksarsk Telegram channel reported that approximately 17 to 20 explosions were heard in the vicinity of the power plant during the night, some of which were accompanied by bright flashes in the sky.

The Russian Ministry of Defense announced that Russian air defense systems shot down 11 Ukrainian drones over the Rostov region during the night of March 25.
