Spain Will Not Block Telegram

The Spanish authorities will not block the Telegram messenger. This decision was made by Spanish judge Santiago Pedraz, as reported by Spanish media on Monday.

According to their reports, the judge made this decision before the potential consequences of such a measure could become known. Other legal experts in Spain have also labeled this measure as excessive, although they admitted that illegal exchanges of content subject to copyright laws do occur on this messenger.

The possibility of blocking Telegram in Spain became known last week after several media outlets reported that users of the messenger were violating copyright laws. They urged providers to block Telegram from the beginning of this week.
