Video: From April 5 to 15, fines will be reduced by 30% if paid
The press service of the Ministry of Internal Affairs informs that due to the legislative reforms implemented by the agency, if fines are paid between April 5 and 15, the penalty will be reduced by 30%.
The relevant announcement states that from April 5, "If a fine decision has been made for a violation recorded by the patrol service or photo/video recording devices, payment within 15 days following the notification date will result in a 30% reduction of the initially assigned fine. The payment obligation will be considered completely fulfilled (except in cases where the decision to impose an administrative penalty is contested). For example, if a decision has been made to impose a fine of 5000 drams, a bonus reduction of 30% will apply, meaning that if paid within 15 days, only 3500 drams will be required. Similarly, if a decision has been made for a violation that results in a fine of 20000 drams, the same bonus reduction will apply if paid within the 15-day period, only requiring 14000 drams.
If the fine is paid within the 15-day period, a 30% reduction will be applied and the obligation will be considered fully completed. The decision regarding the imposition of the administrative fine sent to the driver will indicate the percentage of the fine reduction. This system will be effective for violations occurring on or after April 5.
Additionally, from May 1, a second bonus component will come into effect, providing for an additional 20% reduction in case of electronic notifications, further information about which will be provided later.
