Warsaw to Demand Explanation from Moscow
Warsaw will demand an explanation from Moscow regarding the presence of a Russian missile in Poland's airspace, announced the country’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs. It was previously reported that on the night of March 24, a missile fired by Russia towards Ukraine violated Poland's airspace and remained there for 39 seconds.
“We call on the Russian Federation to cease its terrorist attacks on the residents and territory of Ukraine, to end the war, and to resolve the country’s internal issues,” the Ministry of Foreign Affairs stated in its announcement.
According to Poland’s Ministry of Defense, the missile entered the airspace near the town of Okrętów, close to the border with Ukraine. The Russian side has yet to comment on the incident. On December 29, 2023, Warsaw announced that a Russian cruise missile had crossed over the country and struck Ukraine.
