Ukrainian Energy Facilities Under Large-Scale Attack

Ukrainian energy facilities have been subjected to a large-scale attack. This was announced today by Ukraine's Minister of Energy German Galushchenko, as reported by the country's Ministry of Energy.

According to the official, there are impacts and damage to generation facilities, as well as electricity transmission and distribution systems across various sectors. One of the power transmission lines supplying the Zaporizhzhia Nuclear Power Plant has also been damaged, leading to the disconnection of the 750 kV 'Dneprovskaya' external overhead line.

'There are power outages in some areas,' Galushchenko reported.

In turn, the Ukrainian company 'Ukrgidroenergo' has reported damage to the DniproHES in Zaporizhzhia. As stated by Vladimir Rogov, head of the committee on sovereignty, patriotic projects, and veterans' support of the Public Chamber, the explosion has resulted in a fire in the engine room of 'DniproHES-2,' as well as damage to the railways constructed on the dam's ridges.

The Russian Ministry of Defence has not reported any strikes on energy facilities in Ukraine.

According to the 'Regnum' agency, the ZNPP notified in the morning of March 22 about the disconnection of the 750 kV 'Dneprovskaya' high-voltage line supplying electricity to the plant. Currently, the energy supply of the ZNPP is maintained through the 330 kV 'Feroslavnaya' line. The station emphasized that there are no threats to security boundaries.

According to Minister of Energy German Galushchenko, Russia has recently carried out the most massive missile attack on Ukrainian energy facilities, with impacts on production facilities, transmission and distribution systems across different sectors.
