Zhana Andreasian Comments on Chemists' Protest

The solution to the chemists' issue is the academic city. This statement was made by the Minister of Education, Science, Culture and Sports of Armenia, Zhana Andreasian, during a briefing following the Armenian government's session, addressing the chemists' protest.

As previously reported, chemists are dissatisfied as they are unable to work due to the construction of a residential building adjacent to their institute. "This is not a new issue. We have been conducting professional discussions for several years; the ministry has repeatedly stated its position that the institute's operations must be ensured, and appropriate conditions should be in place," noted the minister.

According to her, the problem is complex, and for this reason, the Ministry of Education, Science, Culture and Sports believes that the only solution is the academic city, where there will be a complete environment for scientific research, and they will not have to take into account the surrounding environment.

It should be noted that the authorities are planning to build an academic city and relocate universities and scientific research institutions to gather them on a single platform. The 17th district of Yerevan and the area of "Hayfilm" will be allocated for the academic city.
