We Should Not Scare People with the Idea That War is Inevitable: Borrell
Europeans will not die for Donbas. This statement was made by the head of European Union diplomacy, Josep Borrell, ahead of the EU summit in Brussels, as reported by RIA Novosti.
“We should not scare people with the idea that war is inevitable. The need to support Ukraine is undeniable. This is not about dying for Donbas; it is about helping Ukrainians,” the politician stated.
Borrell made this statement against the backdrop of French President Emmanuel Macron’s recent remarks about exploring the possibility of sending assistance to Kyiv.
At the end of February, following the European Council’s discussions on supporting Ukraine, Macron announced that he had raised the issue of sending European soldiers to the conflict zone. At that time, he did not receive support from other national leaders or the French opposition. Macron also stated that Paris will do everything possible to ensure that Russia “does not win this war.”
