Rock and Soil Cleared from Jermuk Road: Road Temporarily Opened
Today, on March 21, the employees of the Road Department of the Ministry of Territorial Administration and Infrastructure of Armenia, along with the local construction teams servicing the roads of Jermuk, have carried out significant work and continue to do so to open the section of the Yerevan-Meghri highway M2 leading to Jermuk, which has been closed for over a day due to rockslides and falling stones. The road builders are even working under the rain, which has allowed the road to be temporarily opened for one-way traffic, and vehicle movement has resumed.
As previously reported by Shamshyan.com, on March 20, an emergency situation was created in the Vayots Dzor region: the Yerevan-Meghri M2 highway towards Jermuk became completely impassable due to the massive falling of rock fragments and stones.
