Baku Calls on Paris

Baku has called on Paris to "refrain from interfering in Azerbaijan's internal affairs." This statement was made by the spokesperson of the Azerbaijani Foreign Ministry, Aykhan Hajizade, in response to comments made by French Prime Minister Gabriel Attal during a meeting with the Armenian community.

Hajizade deemed the accusations directed at Azerbaijan by Attal during the reception of the Coordinating Council of Armenian Organizations in France on March 20 as "unacceptable." According to Hajizade, Attal's statements "unilaterally support Armenia."

"We remind the Prime Minister of France, who condemned Azerbaijan's counter-terrorism measures within its own sovereign territory and accused our country of occupying Armenian lands, that the actions of the Azerbaijani side are in accordance with the norms and principles of international law, as well as the previously adopted resolutions of the UN Security Council," the spokesperson stated. Hajizade also added that France continues to remain silent against the ongoing occupation of eight Azerbaijani villages by Armenia.
