The World's Happiest Country Revealed
The annual World Happiness Report has been released, featuring a ranking of 143 countries, including Armenia. Among the countries in the region, Armenia ranks 82nd. It is followed by Georgia (91), Turkey (98), Iran (100), and Azerbaijan (101). Meanwhile, Russia holds the 72nd position.
According to the authors, the ranking has remained largely unchanged since the pandemic. Finland has once again claimed the title of the happiest country in the world for the seventh consecutive year. Besides Finland, Denmark and Iceland have been recognized as the second and third happiest countries, respectively. The top ten happiest countries also include Sweden, Israel, the Netherlands, Norway, Luxembourg, Switzerland, and Australia.
Afghanistan has been identified as the unhappiest country, preceded by Lebanon, Lesotho, Sierra Leone, and the Democratic Republic of Congo.
The authors of the report take into account several key factors in determining the happiness levels in different countries, including social support, income, health, freedom, and the absence of corruption.
The release of the report coincides with the International Day of Happiness, celebrated on March 20. The World Happiness Report has been published annually since 2012.
