We Expect NATO's Steadfast Support for the Peace Process: Pashinyan
The Prime Minister of Armenia, Nikol Pashinyan, addressed the Armenian-Azerbaijani negotiations during a joint statement with the NATO Secretary General. “We expect the steadfast support of the international community, including NATO, for the peace process between Armenia and Azerbaijan, based on known and mutually agreed principles, as well as a clear rejection of coercion and threatening policies,” said Pashinyan.
He also mentioned that proposals for the mirror withdrawal of troops from the borders established in 1991, mutual control of armaments, and an agreement not to attack have been presented, to which there has been no positive response from Baku to date.
Pashinyan touched upon Armenian-Turkish relations, noting that the implementation of agreements reached with Turkey back in 2022 and subsequently reaffirmed could positively impact the establishment of stability in the South Caucasus region.
