Palestine's New Prime Minister Promises to Rebuild the Gaza Strip
Palestine's newly appointed Prime Minister Mohammed Mustafa has announced intentions to implement reforms within the Palestinian National Authority and commence efforts to rebuild the Gaza Strip, as reported by AP.
The official promised comprehensive reforms of administration institutions, a zero-tolerance approach to corruption, and the reunification of all Palestinian territories.
He also plans to establish an independent agency focused on the reconstruction of Gaza and on sourcing funds through a trust foundation.
AP clarified that the announcement did not mention the Hamas group, which has controlled the Gaza Strip since a coup in 2007, independent of the Palestinian National Authority.
Palestinian National Authority leader Mahmoud Abbas appointed Mustafa as Prime Minister on March 14 and tasked him with forming a government.
