Putin Does Not Exclude Creating a 'Sanitary Zone' in Territories Captured from Ukraine
Russian President Vladimir Putin considers it possible to establish a certain 'sanitary zone' in the territories under Ukraine's control. He announced this during a conversation with journalists.
"I do not rule out that at some point we will have to create a certain sanitary zone in the areas subject to the Kyiv regime," he said.
According to Putin, the initiative in the zone of the special military operation is entirely in the hands of the Russian Armed Forces, with advancements occurring every day. He also noted that law enforcement agencies would be tasked with identifying all those who are fighting against Russia with weapons.
"We do not have the death penalty, but we will treat those people as we treat those who are in the combat zone," Putin said, referring to the Russian Volunteer Corps. He added that there are currently four such groups with a total of 2,500 members, who are being thrown into the meat grinder.
