Central Bank Issues Clarifications Regarding 'Mir' Card Circulation

According to RBC, starting March 30, Russian 'MIR' payment system cards will cease to operate in the majority of automated teller machines and terminals of Armenian banks, with the exception of 'VTB Armenia.'

This information was provided by the Central Bank concerning the operation of the 'MIR' payment system in Armenia.

The Central Bank has been receiving numerous inquiries related to the functioning of the 'MIR' payment system in Armenia. In this regard, it informs that commercial banks in Armenia independently decide which payment systems to collaborate with, based on their risk management strategies, including those related to sanctions.

Regarding customer service, commercial banks are obliged to appropriately inform their customers in case of changes in their service conditions.
