Netanyahu Must Go: Israel Needs New Elections, Schumer

Chuck Schumer, the Democratic Majority Leader in the U.S. Senate, has called for early elections in Israel to oust Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu. The influential American senator stated that dangerous cracks are emerging in the once-stable and friendly alliance between Israel and the United States.

“As a democratic country, Israel has the right to choose its leaders. A new discussion about the future of Israel is necessary,” he added. “In my opinion, this is best achieved through new elections.” According to Schumer, Israeli leadership needs to quickly rectify mistakes and take measures to protect the peaceful residents of Gaza.

The next general elections in Israel are scheduled for October 2026.
