Stoltenberg Reveals Estimated Russian Casualties in Ukraine
According to NATO assessments, Russian casualties in the war against Ukraine have significantly increased in recent times. NATO Secretary General Jens Stoltenberg announced this in Brussels, as reported by dw.com.
Based on the information he provided, Western intelligence services estimate that the number of killed and wounded Russian soldiers has surpassed 350,000.
Stoltenberg stated that Russia is paying a very high price for "small" territorial gains. Ukrainian attacks have also destroyed or incapacitated a significant portion of the Russian Black Sea Fleet, he added.
He noted that in the air war, Ukraine, among other things, is downing critical and expensive long-range radar detection and control aircraft.
This time, the NATO Secretary General did not specify the number of Russian casualties. It should be reminded that in late November 2023, the alliance reported that Russian casualties exceeded 100,000.
According to the Ukrainian Ministry of Defense, as of March 14, the number of military personnel lost in the war against Ukraine amounts to 427,840. The Russian side does not provide accurate information about its losses.
