Kazakhstan Sends 139 Peacekeepers to the Golan Heights
Kazakhstan has dispatched a peacekeeping contingent of 139 servicemen to the Golan Heights as part of a UN observer mission tasked with monitoring the ceasefire between Israel and Syria. This information was released by the Ministry of Defense of Kazakhstan, as reported by TASS.
The country's Minister of Defense, General-Lieutenant Ruslan Zhaksylykov, indicated that the geographical diversification and expansion of participation of Kazakh peacekeepers in UN missions is being carried out at the direction of the President.
The farewell ceremony for the peacekeepers took place in the Panfilov Park of 28 Guardsmen in Almaty. The 139 servicemen being sent to the Golan Heights will carry out tasks related to maintaining the ceasefire regime in accordance with the mission's mandate.
“It is a great honor for us. We have prepared and re-equipped the peacekeeping contingent in a short period to meet all international standards and requirements, and we are ready to carry out tasks under the specific conditions of the geopolitical situation,” Minister of Defense Ruslan Zhaksylykov stated during the ceremony.
