Anahit Avanesyan Responds to Arsen Torosyan

The Minister of Health, Anahit Avanesyan, disagrees with former minister Arsen Torosyan’s statement that the implementation of the electronic prescription system was carried out without proper preparation.

“I believe that we can indefinitely postpone all our reforms and say that in the coming centuries, societies and technologies will be better prepared, and do nothing. Our approach is that we must implement our planned reforms within clear timelines, and any issues that arise in practical life should be solved as we move forward. The system is ready, the doctors are prepared,” she stated.

Avanesyan noted that she is familiar with all comments and criticisms. “It is important that our colleagues and critics raise all questions so that we are also informed about all possible issues,” she added.

Regarding Torosyan’s observation that pharmacy staff are exposed to medical confidentiality, the Minister said, “All these concerns are being discussed on our end, and solutions have already been provided to ensure that the information is as secure as possible. We are talking about medical confidentiality and personal data, but the paper circulation has mostly contributed to the leakage of that confidentiality.”
