We Have Officially Informed Russia: Grigoryan on Remaining Only Armenian Border Guards at Zvartnots
Yerevan has officially informed Moscow that only Armenian border guards will be present at Zvartnots. This was stated by the Secretary of the Security Council, Armen Grigoryan, during a conversation with reporters in the National Assembly.
"Armenia's position is that the Armenian border troops must fully carry out their duties at Zvartnots International Airport," he said, adding, "Since gaining independence, Armenia has been acquiring capabilities in various directions, and at this time, Armenia has the full capability to exercise complete control at the airport. Armenia has officially notified the Russian Federation of its clear position through an official letter."
It is worth noting that earlier Dmitry Peskov stated that the Russian side is not aware of any decision regarding the withdrawal of Russian border guards from Yerevan's Zvartnots Airport and that work is ongoing in all directions.
