Alen Simonyan on the Resolution Adopted by the European Parliament

The Speaker of the National Assembly, Alen Simonyan, expressed gratitude to European partners for adopting the resolution regarding the consideration of Armenia's candidacy for EU membership.

“Yesterday, the European Parliament adopted a resolution on the necessity of closer ties between the EU and Armenia and a peace agreement between Azerbaijan and Armenia. We thank our European partners for this important step. Armenia is committed to actively working on the implementation of the provisions of this resolution and deepening cooperation with the EU based on common democratic values and aspirations,” wrote the Speaker on his Facebook page.

It is worth reminding that earlier it was reported that the European Parliament adopted a resolution proposing to consider the candidacy of Armenia for EU membership, which was supported by 504 delegates, with 4 against and 32 abstentions.
