What Important Statements Did Putin Make During the Interview
Russian President Vladimir Putin gave an interview to journalist Dmitry Kiselov for Rossiya 1 and RIA Novosti, during which he made several statements. According to Putin, Russia is ready for negotiations on the Ukraine issue, but they must be based on reality rather than desires following the use of psychoactive substances.
"Negotiations are not a pause for Kyiv to rearm but a serious conversation with security guarantees for Russia," he said.
He also noted that Western military personnel have long been present in Ukraine, currently functioning as advisers and mercenaries, adding that the presence of foreign official contingents in Ukraine will not change the situation on the battlefield.
The Russian president referred to Poland, stating that Poland wishes to reclaim lands it historically considers its own, which were handed to Ukraine. "If Poland sends troops into Ukraine, they will not leave," he noted.
Addressing the United States, Putin stated that with the creation of Avangard missiles, Russia has nullified everything the U.S. has invested in missile defense systems. He reminded that Washington has declared that it is not planning to send its troops to Ukraine. According to the Russian president, the U.S. understands that such a move, like American troops entering Russian territory, would be seen as interference.
Putin said that President Joe Biden represents the traditional political school. "There, apart from Biden, there are many other experts on Russian-American relations and strategic deterrence. Therefore, I do not believe that everything is proceeding hastily here, but we are prepared for it," the president explained.
The Federation president pointed out that the U.S. is developing its nuclear forces, aiming to increase their modernity, but this does not mean that it is ready to unleash a nuclear war tomorrow. "If the U.S. conducts nuclear tests, Russia could do the same," he said.
According to Putin, English and American missiles harm Russia, but they do not change the situation on the battlefield. "The government, the Central Bank, the Security Council are analyzing every step of our enemies," the president emphasized.
Speaking about an "honest deal" with the West, he stated: "I do not trust anyone, but we need guarantees, and these guarantees must be written, they must be such that would suit us." He noted that Russia does not intend to engage in divisions within the West but will pursue the protection of its interests.
It was also mentioned that:
- Russia does not interfere in the U.S. presidential elections; Moscow is ready to work with any president.
- Russia is not pushing into Africa and has not extracted France from there; African leaders themselves wanted to work with Moscow.
- Finland and Sweden's membership in NATO is pointless.
Putin connected attempts by Kyiv to attack Belgorod and Kursk regions with Ukrainian failures on the frontline. "Ukraine wants to show something with this, mainly in an informational sense," the president emphasized.
According to Putin, Ukraine aims to disrupt Russia's elections through attacks on Russian regions. He also stated, "If Russia withdraws its people from Donbas and Novorossiya today, the losses will multiply tomorrow." Speaking about Western elites, Putin stated, "They are used to filling their bellies with human bodies and their pockets with money for centuries. But they must understand that the vampire ball is coming to an end."
The Russian president also noted, "No one will reckon with us if we cannot defend ourselves. We must defend ourselves."
