VIDEO: Is There a Command to Refrain from Shooting? A Question to Papikyan

Edita

The Minister of Defense, Suren Papikyan, barely responded to journalists' questions after a closed meeting with members of the National Assembly's Defense and Security Committee. Journalists inquired about under what conditions a soldier stationed at the border may open fire, whether villages in Tavush would be handed over, and which villages specifically, as well as if there is a command to withdraw troops, and whether four villages in Tavush have already been handed over.

In response, Suren Papikyan stated, "Yesterday, the Prime Minister answered all questions." The Minister of Defense assured that the Armed Forces of Armenia have not been ordered to refrain from shooting. "No, there is no command to refrain from shooting," he said in a conversation with journalists at the National Assembly.

When asked whether there is a decision for the armed forces to withdraw from the four villages in Tavush, the Minister of Defense replied that the Armed Forces of Armenia continue to address the challenges laid before them.
