They are trying to scare us: Vladimir Putin
Discussions among German officers regarding possible strikes on the Crimean bridge are intended to intimidate Russia, but they are nothing more than fantasy. This was stated by Russian President Vladimir Putin in an interview with Dmitry Kiselev for ‘Rossiya 1’ and ‘RIA Novosti’.
“They are first of all motivating themselves. Secondly, they are trying to scare us. As for Germany, there are constitutional issues there. They rightly say, what if those Taurus missiles are found in the part of the Crimean bridge, which even by their own admission is Russian territory. That is a violation of the Constitution of the Federal Republic of Germany,” he noted.
According to Putin, the opposition in Germany is behaving more aggressively. “Let’s see how far they will negotiate; we are following this closely,” he added.
It should be noted that Margarita Simonyan, the editor-in-chief of the ‘Rossiya Segodnya’ MIA and RT, published a transcript of the German officers’ conversation. During this discussion, they consider the possibility of attacking the Crimean bridge. Simonyan indicated that the 40-minute recording also includes statements affirming the long-standing involvement of the British and French in the conflict.
The conversation, during which Bundeswehr representatives discussed the potential strikes on the Crimean bridge, took place on February 19. The topic was discussed by Gregen, head of the Air Force Command Operations and Exercises Division; Air Force Inspector Gerhartz; and personnel from the Air Operations Center, Fensk and Froshtedten.
At the same time, one of the officers mentioned a planned visit to Ukraine on February 21 to coordinate strikes on Russian facilities. Additionally, the Bundeswehr considered the possibility of transferring 100 ‘Taurus’ type missiles to Kyiv, which would be ready for use in 8 months.
