Denmark Considers Extending Mandatory Military Service to Women
Denmark plans to extend the duration of military service and make mandatory military service applicable to women as well. This was reported by the Associated Press, referencing Danish Prime Minister Mette Frederiksen and Defense Minister Troels Lund Poulsen.
“It is necessary to have a broader recruitment base that includes all genders,” Poulsen stated. Currently, 4,700 individuals are undergoing military service in Denmark, and authorities aim to increase that number to at least 5,000.
Additionally, Denmark is considering extending the service duration from 4 months to 11 months.
