Dashnak Gagik Sargsyan Does Not Acknowledge Guilt in 'Terrorism Against the CPP and Melkonyan'

Dashnak member Gagik Sargsyan has not acknowledged his guilt in the charges presented against him, stating that the accusation is highly abstract. This was announced by lawyer Vahe Yeprikyan, who noted that it is unclear what specific actions Sargsyan has allegedly taken in the context of the 'terrorism' indicated by the Investigative Committee.

‘Despite the video released by the Investigative Committee of Armenia and while maintaining the confidentiality of the pre-investigation, I would like to express at this moment that my client, Gagik Sargsyan, does not acknowledge guilt in the charges presented against him. Moreover, in our assessment, the accusation is highly abstract and does not clearly meet the legal standards, particularly it is unclear what actions G. Sargsyan has specifically taken that fall within the definitions of the alleged crime. Therefore, the title of the statement released by the Investigative Committee, which claims that '... cases of terrorism have been uncovered,' is exceedingly exaggerated,' he said.

‘We are confident that, given the absence of established grounds for detention and that the threshold for reasonable suspicion has not been met, the court will reject the detention request in the coming hours,’ Yeprikyan added.
