VIDEO: "You Cut Your Voice" - "I Will Cut Your Voice" - Language Clash at the City Council Meeting
Can you ensure a quorum if it takes a little longer? This question was posed by Grigor Yeritsyan, a member of the "National Progress" faction, during the Yerevan City Council meeting, asking what they were afraid of.
Ani Khachaturyan, a member of the "Republic" faction, responded, saying that the project has just become reportable. "You cut your voice, it’s not your turn," Yeritsyan said. "I will cut your voice," was Ani Khachaturyan's retort.
Yerevan Mayor Tigran Avinyan issued a warning to Yeritsyan, stating: "Mr. Yeritsyan, do not cross your limits. This is a warning to you. Mr. Yeritsyan, do not forget where you are," the mayor said, reminding that a council member can be removed from the room for violating the regulations. "If you continue, you will lose the right to vote and ask questions. If you continue, you will leave this hall and will no longer participate in today’s meeting. Therefore, I ask you to recognize your limits," he added.
Avinyan also addressed Ani Khachaturyan, urging her not to make remarks from her seat. For more details, see the video.
