Society is Ready to Pay What is Necessary: Deputy Mayor on Transport Fare

The transport fare increase project is actually a ‘reform project,’ and only the opposition considers it a price hike, which the society does not. This was stated by Yerevan Deputy Mayor Armen Pambukhchyan in an interview with ArmLur.am.

“I would call this project a transportation reform, not an increase project. Any reform that provides proper and decent services to our citizens will naturally involve certain changes in fares,” said Pambukhchyan.

Through communication with the public, Pambukhchyan concluded that people are willing to pay more. “We communicate with society, we talk to people, and they are ready to pay what is necessary for decent transportation,” he noted.
