Major Car Accident in Kotayk Province Leaves 5 Injured

A major car accident occurred today in the Kotayk Province. At around 17:40, in the administrative area of Yeghvard on the Yeghvard-Ashtarak highway, a collision occurred between a Jeep and a VAZ 2106 vehicle under still unknown circumstances.

According to photojournalist Gagik Shamshyan, as a result of the accident, 5 individuals were transported with varying degrees of injuries, some to the 'Yeghvard' hospital, and others to the 'Armenia' Medical Center in Yerevan.

Rescue workers, with the assistance of citizens, had to exert considerable effort to extract 3 of the injured from the VAZ 2106 vehicle.

A patrol group from the Nairi Division of the Armenian Ministry of Internal Affairs also arrived at the scene. A criminal case has been initiated in the Nairi Investigative Division regarding the accident, where the identities of the drivers and the injured are being clarified. By the investigator's directive, the vehicles are being transferred to the secure area of the Nairi Division of the police.
