The Weapons Specialist of 'Rust' Film Convicted of Manslaughter
The armorer for the film 'Rust', where Alec Baldwin shot and killed a cinematographer, has been found guilty of involuntary manslaughter by a court. Hannah Gutierrez-Reed (pictured) will remain in custody until sentencing, according to Fox News. She faces a potential sentence of up to 18 months in prison and a $5,000 fine.
However, jurors acquitted Gutierrez-Reed of charges related to falsifying evidence.
The tragedy occurred in 2021 when Baldwin accidentally shot cinematographer Halyna Hutchins and injured director Joel Souza. The actor claimed he believed the gun was not loaded.
