The NSS Made Purchases Worth 1,568,000 AMD in January: 'Hayots Ashkharh'
'Hayots Ashkharh' newspaper reports: 'The National Security Service (NSS) of the Republic of Armenia made purchases worth 1,568,000 AMD in January 2024, including office chairs, small sofas, a manager's armchair, a press table, and desks.
According to one of the contracts, 16 office chairs were purchased, each costing nearly 40,000 AMD. Their specifications are as follows: 'The frame is made of oval steel, galvanized with nickel, with armrests covered with natural wood. The seat and back are made of a single piece of 1.2 cm thick particleboard, upholstered with high-quality, 3 cm thick foam, covered with high-quality brown eco-leather. The frame pipes are welded together, and the open parts are closed with plastic caps.'
Under a separate contract, one small sofa was purchased for 90,000 AMD. The technical specifications of the sofa are: 'Minimum parameters, external dimensions LxHxW (cm) 180x80x92, frame: wood, laminated chipboard, laminated MDF, configuration: non-foldable.'
According to a third contract valued at 839,000 AMD, 6 chairs, a press table, and desks were acquired, costing 336,000 AMD for 4, 11,000 AMD for 1, and 492,000 AMD for another.
It should also be noted that such lavish purchases were made by an entity that had been without a leader for almost a year, but recently, by the decision of Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan, a temporary acting director, Arthur Gasparyan, was appointed. Perhaps the NSS wants to welcome Gasparyan with new furniture, which is why they are updating their furnishings.'
