VIDEO: "Georgia Wouldn't Sit Back and Watch How We Develop" - Khachatur Sukiasyan
Khachatur Sukiasyan, a member of the ruling My Step alliance in the National Assembly, commented on the legislative initiative regulating the IT sector. During parliamentary hearings, Sukiasyan recalled that Russian relocants had come to Armenia. According to the MP, it is essential that specialists are present in Armenia, generating ideas and paying taxes. "Today we must work only with highly qualified specialists. We have two options: either we prepare that specialist, or we provide a competitive platform that allows them to move to Armenia," he said.
He noted that all countries are currently thinking about how to create platforms for qualified specialists to relocate to their regions. "Of course, Georgia would not sit back and watch how we develop. They also need to create their platform. It is not that they have taken steps against us but rather wanted to provide better conditions for those people to go and establish their activities in Georgia," he added.
