The Plaque with the Image of Artilleryman Albert Hovhannisyan Has Not Been Removed from Yerevan Medical Center, Council Member Says
The plaque featuring the image of Artsakh war hero Albert Hovhannisyan has not been removed from the walls of the plastic reconstructive and micro-surgery department at the Yerevan Medical Center. This statement was made by Yerevan council member Ashot Sargsyan.
Yesterday, Albert Hovhannisyan’s father, Artak Hovhannisyan, announced that he visited the center and was surprised to find that neither the department nor the plaque bearing his son's name was present. He attempted to inquire among the staff about the whereabouts of the department and the plaque; some said the department had been relocated, while others were astonished and claimed that there had never been a plaque, despite clear traces of the plaque being visible on the wall.
The issue, as Sargsyan wrote on his Facebook page, is that the department has been moved to another section of the same medical center, where the plaque was also installed this morning. He added in the comments that the plaque was put up today.
Artak Hovhannisyan has since made a new post addressing the denials spread on social media. He stated, “Since various sources have started to spread absurd denials, I will be at this medical facility tomorrow morning to receive the clarifications that concern us all,” mentioning that he is prepared to answer journalists’ questions at the same location after receiving the clarifications.
It should be noted that the plastic reconstructive and micro-surgery department of the Yerevan Medical Center was named after artilleryman Albert Hovhannisyan in 2021, in honor of those who perished in the 44-day war.
