Armed Robbery at Yerevan Gas Station Leaves Injured
Today, on March 2, an armed robbery occurred in Yerevan involving masked assailants. Shamshyan reports that at around 04:55, the Yerevan Police's Shengavit Division received an alert from the number 1 hospital named after Heratsi, indicating that a citizen was brought in with a "gunshot wound to the left calf."
According to the site's report, doctors informed the police that the injured individual was in the operating room and unable to provide details about the incident. It was later revealed that the victim is a 54-year-old resident of Yerevan, identified as Samvel A.
Police are also investigating that the victim sustained the gunshot wound at the "Max Oil" gas station, located near the Shengavit District Court on Arshakunyats Avenue. Before the investigative team arrived at around 05:10, the Shengavit Division received another alert from the "Erebuni" medical center, stating that an individual had been brought in with a head injury from Arshakunyats Avenue.
A patrol group from the Shengavit Division headed to the hospital, discovering that the second victim is a 53-year-old resident of Yerevan named Vardan I., who also received injuries at the aforementioned gas station.
According to sources, around 04:30, two masked individuals, one armed with a firearm, entered the gas station and demanded something from the employees. The staff did not comply and attempted to eject them from the premises, at which point a struggle ensued, and one of the masked assailants fired a shot inside the gas station before both fled the scene.
It has been reported that a criminal case has been initiated at the Shengavit Investigation Division regarding the incident. A forensic expert was also on the scene, who discovered blood-like traces and one bullet casing.
