Putin Warned the West That It Is Better Not to Engage with Russia, Shoigu Says
The West has been saying a lot lately, and Russian President Vladimir Putin, while informing the Federal Assembly about new armaments, clearly conveyed that it is better not to engage with the Russian Federation. This was stated by Russian Defense Minister Sergey Shoigu, as reported by RIA Novosti.
"They (in the West – ed.) have said a lot of foolish things lately: threats regarding the deployment of nuclear weapons in space, and so on. Today, a clear and precise response was given – we have it, and it should not only represent a threat to you, but draw your attention to the fact that it is better not to engage with us," Shoigu told reporters in response to a request to comment on the part of the address regarding the new armaments, including the 'Poseidon' device.
In response to a question about the development of the types of weapons mentioned by President Putin in his 2018 address, the defense minister stated, "It has been clearly and explicitly stated that we possess all of this, and everything has been developed, tested, and integrated into the arsenal over these years."
It is noteworthy that on February 29, Russian President Vladimir Putin announced in his address to the Federal Assembly that Russia would soon demonstrate new heavy 'Sarmat' missile systems during combat duty. Additionally, he mentioned that the 'Kinzhal' hypersonic system is being used effectively in air defense, the 'Tsirkon' strike hypersonic system has already been utilized in battle from a naval base, and the 'Avangard' intercontinental hypersonic glide vehicles and 'Peresvet' laser systems are on combat duty. The testing of the 'Burevestnik' unlimited-range cruise missile and 'Poseidon' unmanned underwater vehicle is nearing completion.
