The Provisions of this Document are Full of Anti-Russian Sentiments and Filled with Defamation: Zakharova
Russia will respond appropriately to any new hostile actions by Western countries based on the principle of reciprocity, stated Maria Zakharova, the official representative of the Russian Foreign Ministry, in comments regarding the G7 declaration. This information was reported by TASS.
“The entire responsibility for severing trade, economic, cultural, and human contacts with Russia falls on the current Western leaders. We will respond adequately to any hostile steps based on the principle of reciprocity,” emphasized the diplomat.
According to her, Russia decisively rejects all unfounded demands in the G7 communiqué, which is full of Russophobia and defamation: “This so-called group of seven, uniting the hostile states of the Russian Federation, has issued yet another political and biased communiqué, deliberately timed to coincide with the second anniversary of Russia’s special military operation. This communiqué does not correspond to Russia's interests. The provisions of this document are full of anti-Russian sentiments and filled with defamation. Overall, the statement became another characteristic example of the West's political attacks against our country and confirmed the irreversible reality of the ‘G7’ degeneration as another tool of the hegemonic aspirations of the current U.S. administration.”
“We categorically reject all baseless and illegal demands directed at Russia in the text,” the diplomat stressed.
Additionally, Russia considers the G7 demand to “fully clarify” the circumstances of Alexei Navalny's death as a gross interference in Russia’s internal affairs. “The demand to fully clarify the circumstances related to Alexei Navalny's death is unacceptable. We assess it as a gross attempt to interfere in Russia’s internal affairs,” the commentary stated.
Zakharova suggested that the G7 countries respond to inquiries from Moscow regarding the results of analyses taken from Navalny in Germany, as well as inquiries about the “Skripals case” and the diversions related to the “Nord Streams.” “As long as there are no convincing answers to these questions, the countries of the ‘G7’ have no right to hope for reciprocity from Russia,” the diplomat concluded.
She noted that the G7 has turned into some sort of headquarters for the Western coalition's struggle against the Russian Federation, with the U.S. and the United Kingdom using the other members as “useful idiots” to support their anti-Russian agenda.
“A quick look at the text of the statement is enough to understand the long-standing and deep-rooted anti-Russian sentiments within the G7 group. Primarily through the efforts of the Anglo-Saxons, the G7 has become some sort of headquarters for the West’s struggle against Russia, as well as other independent states that seek to develop legal ties with each other. In this regard, Washington and London effectively use representatives from Berlin, Tokyo, Paris, and Rome as ‘useful idiots’ to support their anti-Russian line,” the diplomat noted.
Zakharova also emphasized that the time for such groupings as the G7 has “irretrievably passed.” “The countries included in it must acknowledge their mistakes, neutralize hatred-based anti-Russian rhetoric, abandon anti-Russian policies, and accept the objective reality of the emerging multipolar world without hegemony and neo-colonial dictation,” added the official representative of the Russian Foreign Ministry.
