Armenian Military-Political Leadership Fails to Respond Appropriately to Current Situation – Abrahamyan
The Armenian authorities are attempting to shift the responsibility for the incident that occurred near Nerkhin Hand onto others. This was stated by Tigran Abrahamyan, a member of the Armenian National Assembly from the "I Have Honor" faction and a member of the Defense and Security Committee, during a conversation with reporters, in response to the statement made by Security Council Secretary Armen Grigoryan.
It is noteworthy that Grigoryan had earlier stated that the EU mission has no access to the area near Nerkhin Hand village in the Syunik province. Only Russian forces are present there, and they have failed to prevent the incident.
“It is strange that high-ranking officials are making contradictory statements about the authority and actions of the servicemen on duty at the front line, as if they did not request that Russian soldiers be stationed at various front lines after the 44-day war,” said the MP.
According to Abrahamyan, Armenia's military-political leadership is not responding appropriately to the current situation, leaving Baku's actions unanswered. Azerbaijan, in turn, continues its political agenda, seeing Armenia's behavior.
