Bayramov Addresses Armenian-Azerbaijani Border Situation
The Minister of Foreign Affairs of Azerbaijan, Jeyhun Bayramov, has addressed the Armenian-Azerbaijani border situation.
"This nearly five-month period has been the calmest phase at the conditional border between Azerbaijan and Armenia. If we look at this time frame, we can see that certain circles have been concerned about this issue and are doing everything possible to change the situation and create tension," Bayramov stated.
Bayramov also reiterated his criticism of the EU monitoring mission at the Armenian-Azerbaijani border, noting that the actions of the mission at the border, coupled with visits from various Western diplomats in a context of absence of tension, have contributed to keeping the issue on the agenda and portraying it as a source of tension. "An example of this was the violation of the Azerbaijani border from the control zone of this mission, which subsequently led to the injury of our serviceman due to sniper fire for no apparent reason," Bayramov added.
