Photos: 10,000 Evacuated in Britain Due to World War II Bomb

A British man discovered a 500 kg bomb near his home. While working in an area in Plymouth, he struck metal with a spade and realized what he had found. This German bomb, dating back to the Second World War, prompted a comprehensive special operation for its neutralization.
According to the UK Ministry of Defence, approximately 30 specialists monitored the bomb around the clock. During this operation, the local population of about 10,000 residents was evacuated.
