Large-Scale Special Operation in Georgia; Armenian Citizen Arrested
The Georgian police have carried out a large-scale special operation across various regions of the country, resulting in the arrest of drug dealers. This was reported by the director of the Central Criminal Police Department, Teimuraz Kupatadze.
The operation to apprehend drug traffickers took place in Tbilisi, Adjara, Shida Kartli, as well as Samegrelo-Zemo Svaneti. Law enforcement officials detained several individuals, including foreign nationals.
Kupatadze also noted that since the beginning of the year, 270 people have been arrested in Georgia on suspicion of drug-related offenses, of which 27 are identified as drug dealers. Among the detainees are citizens from Georgia, Iran, Armenia, Turkey, Jordan, Russia, Kazakhstan, Ukraine, Belarus, Iraq, and the Netherlands. A large quantity of cocaine, heroin, subutex, methadone, amphetamines, LSD, cannabis, and other drugs has been seized.
