EKC Member Not Suddenly Deceased: He Was Murdered
The Union of Volunteer Warriors issued a statement on February 13, stating that on the previous day, preliminary information indicated that 40-year-old EKC member Gor Asatryan had suddenly passed away. The published version was initially suspicious to the deceased's family and relatives. It turns out that volunteer Gor Asatryan was not a sudden death victim; he was murdered.
On February 12, a report was received stating that EKC member G. Asatryan had not woken up from sleep in the morning and, according to preliminary data, had suddenly died. A criminal case was initiated under Part 1 of Article 155 of the Criminal Code of the Republic of Armenia, and the investigation was assigned to a special investigation group.
During the preliminary investigation, a forensic examination determined that following a dispute between T.K. and G. Asatryan, at around 00:05 on February 12, T.K. struck G. Asatryan, who was lying on the bed, in the neck area with considerable force, leading to fatal injuries. Based on sufficient evidence obtained, T.K. has been charged under Part 1 of Article 155 of the Criminal Code of the Republic of Armenia. He has been detained as a preventive measure. The investigation is ongoing,” the Investigative Committee informed Panorama.am.
It should be noted that Part 1 of Article 155 of the Criminal Code defines: “Murder, unlawfully depriving another of life, is punishable by imprisonment for a term of eight to fifteen years.”
