The US, South Korea, and Japan Discuss Strengthening Export Controls on Russia
On Thursday, representatives from South Korea, the United States, and Japan held the first talks aimed at strengthening trilateral cooperation in the area of export control on Russia, reported Yonhap news agency citing South Korea's Ministry of Industry.
"During the meeting on Thursday, the three parties coordinated their export control measures and agreed to work together to establish partnerships with Southeast Asian countries on this issue," the statement said.
This primarily pertains to the export of "key and emerging technologies," the ministry noted.
During the summit in August, South Korean President Yoon Suk-yeol, US President Joe Biden, and Japanese Prime Minister Fumio Kishida agreed to continue strengthening cooperation on export control to "prevent the use of our military or dual-use technologies that could potentially threaten international peace and security," the agency recalled.
