Car Accident on Yerevan-Gyumri Highway: Casualties Reported
On February 21, at 12:42 PM, the Armenian Ministry of Emergency Situations received an alert about a traffic accident near the junction in Talin city, indicating that there were casualties and that rescue assistance was needed.
A firefighting and rescue squad was dispatched to the scene from the regional rescue department of the Ministry of Emergency Situations. It was determined that a vehicle identified as an 'Opel' (driver: H. G., born in 1968) collided with a parked 'Howo' truck (driver: V. N., born in 1965) on the 71st kilometer of the Yerevan-Gyumri highway. Unfortunately, one passenger in the 'Opel' vehicle was reported deceased.
Before the arrival of the rescue team, the driver of the 'Opel' and another passenger, S. A., were hospitalized, where doctors assessed their health condition as critical. The rescuers disconnected the vehicle's battery, shut off the gas valve, and removed the deceased from the vehicle, transferring the body to a transport for the deceased.
