Andreasian Ready to Meet with Ruling Party MPs in Parliament, But No Invitation Yet: 'Zhoghovurd'
The daily newspaper 'Zhoghovurd' reports: 'The Chairman of the Supreme Judicial Council, Karen Andreasian, is ready to go to the National Assembly and meet with ruling party MPs, but he has not yet received an invitation. As is known, after the scandalous video published by the Judicial Department, members of the National Assembly from the ruling Civil Contract party are preparing to summon BJC Chairman Karen Andreasian to the Assembly for explanations.
The video in question, titled 'The Guilty for the Failures in the Cases of Robert Kocharian, Serzh Sargsyan, and Others: A Revelation from the Judicial Power,' accuses certain judges and lawyers of prolonging the proceedings of cases involving former presidents and other high-ranking officials. The Supreme Judicial Council explicitly targets judges and lawyers, attempting to justify the failures in revealing a number of publicly significant judicial cases. Apparently, BJC Chairman Karen Andreasian acted unilaterally and ordered the production of such a disgraceful video; now, the ruling party has decided to call Andreasian for a closed meeting to obtain explanations.'
'Zhoghovurd' approached the Supreme Judicial Council to find out whether Karen Andreasian has received an invitation from the National Assembly and whether he is ready to go to the Assembly to meet with the Civil Contract members. In response, BJC spokesperson Lilit Shaboyan stated that long before the video was published, Karen Andreasian had already expressed from the podium of the National Assembly that he was ready for both open and closed discussions with all factions, but he has not yet received an invitation.'
