‘They Were Just Joking’ – Principal Discusses Stabbing Incident at School
Recently, reports emerged in the media about a 17-year-old boy who visited Martuni Medical Center on February 16 with a diagnosis of a "cut and stab wound on the external surface of the middle third of the arm." Although he claimed to have injured himself while training, the investigation revealed that he had been stabbed by a friend during a basketball game at Badal Muradyan Secondary School in Tsovasar, resulting from an interpersonal dispute.
In connection with the incident, MediaHub contacted the school's principal, A. Vardanyan. He provided a notable response, stating that the boys were “just joking.”
"Their class had finished, they went and whatever happened, I do not know. It was not a stab with a knife; he was hit with something sharp. I can’t say anything else," said the principal.
When informed about the boy's diagnosis, the principal responded that there was no trace of blood at the school, adding that after being struck, the boy held his leg and went home, after which he was taken to the hospital.
“We had no idea until the department called us. But I’ll say it was just a joke between them,” the principal mentioned.
